More than 50 age after they solved their first mystery story, Enid Blyton's beloved Famous Five are making a comeback in a raw series of children's books.
Now all grown up, the characters of Julian, Dick, Anne and George and their dog Timmy will revisit the only case they failed to solve as budding detectives in a new book to be released next month.
Hailed as "a brand fresh Famous Five mystery and adventure survival handbook in one", The Famous Five's Survival Guide tells how the foursome put their heads together to essay to work out the mystery of the royal dragon of Siam.
Chorion, which owns the rights to Blyton's characters, has authorised the book's vent along with new versions of some of the author's other popular children's classics including The Faraway Tree, The Wishing Chair, The Secret Series and Malory Towers.
Twenty newly commissioned books will be released, with the latest Famous Five and Faraway Tree novels due out in Britain side by side month.
The other titles will follow during the future two years.
"Blyton's stories have been enjoyed by millions over the years and there is a huge demand for more of her witching storytelling," Chorion spokesman Jeff Norton told The Times.
"Blyton was passionate in her advocacy of child literacy and as the guardians of her estate we see it as our duty to continue that legacy."
Blyton, world Health Organization died in 1968, wrote 700 stories and eight-spot million of her books are sold around the world each year.
